Black Box

Black Box

Einstein believed that there was a theory of relativity

Defining how we each, relative to one another, experience change differently

Energy concentrated in one area influencing mass in another

Mass concentrated in one area influencing trajectory of another

The man behind the black box designed it all, I am sure

But I don’t believe we’ve unlocked the gates to see him or her.

One brilliant day we may know for sure

Why twilight is as eerie as the lights beyond.

Why stars burn bright into the distance so many millions of miles away.

The black box is made of some really nifty stuff

An encryption many millions of iterations thick separates us from him.

Our attempts to make it through

Like drilling through the great wall of china with a spoon

But we continue

Hoping we will somehow erode its walls away

As we erode our own minds day by day

And miss the true treasure that life brings.
